Materials And Structures Of Braided Silicone Tubes

Braided silicone hoses typically employ a multi-layered composite structure to enhance their mechanical properties. A typical structure, from the inside out, consists of an inner silicone layer, a braided reinforcement layer, and an outer silicone layer. The braided layer is sandwiched between two silicone layers, forming a stable mesh-like support structure. This structure significantly improves the hose's pressure resistance, rupture resistance, and negative pressure resistance.

The braided reinforcement layer is made of various materials to suit different application requirements. Braided layers using glass fiber offer flame retardant properties. Nylon braids provide better pressure resistance. Steel wire silicone braided hoses offer strong negative pressure resistance. Polyester fibers are commonly used in high-performance applications; for example, hoses reinforced with four layers of polyester mesh enhance pressure and vacuum resistance.
