Flexible Silicone Hose With Steel Helix Compared with standard silicone hoses, this flexible silicone hose, manufactured with a steel wire spiral in-plant inside the reinforcement plies, has an excellent flexibility and can withstand higher pressure. For its super flexibility, silicone flexible hose has wide applications: breathers, water hoses, heater matrix, top and bottom radiator connections, etc. Polyester material is suitable for coolant/glycol, water, steam, oil mist and air, etc. |

Note: For 51 mm plus internal diameters, they are not as flexible as the smaller diameters. It is suitable for mild angles, not for tight angles.

What Makes Silicone Hose So Flexible
The flexibility of our silicone hoses comes from their unique molecular structure and material properties. Unlike rubber hoses, silicone polymers have long chains that can move freely without being damaged. This gives silicone hoses excellent bendability. These hoses can bend in extreme conditions, including
- Temperatures from -60°C to +260°C
- Vacuum and pressure environments
- Tight installation angles
- The hardness grade (hardness) also affects flexibility. Softer silicones (lower Shore A grades) are more bendable. Wholesalers should stock different grades to meet different industrial needs
How to Bend Silicone Hose Without Damage
You can bend silicone hose, but it requires some skill:
- Minimum Bend Radius: This is the smallest radius you can bend the hose without causing it to collapse. Thicker or larger diameter hoses will have wider bend radii.
- Use Reinforced Hose: Silicone hoses with polyester or aramid reinforcements prevent kinking while remaining flexible.
- No Sharp Angles: Avoid sharp bends to maintain fluidity.
- Use Hose Bending Springs or Elbows: These are useful for achieving sharp turns without stressing the hose.
